Second Presbyterian Church

Rising gracefully along Meeting Street in the heart of downtown Charleston, Second Presbyterian Church is a masterpiece of early 19th-century architecture and one of the city’s most beloved historic landmarks. Its soaring steeple, grand sanctuary, and serene churchyard reflect Charleston’s enduring legacy of faith, community, and craftsmanship.

Beautifully preserved through generations, Second Presbyterian stands as a powerful testament to the importance of historic preservation in the Lowcountry. As a venue for inspiring gatherings, it offers a timeless backdrop that captures the spirit of Charleston—elegant, storied, and steadfast.

Charleston Design District at the historic Navy Yard

The Charleston Design District is a new, curated hub for home furnishings, designers, and makers, transforming historic buildings at the former Navy Yard Charleston (North Charleston Naval Base) into a design destination with showrooms, studios, dining, and cultural spaces, blending industrial history with modern innovation. It features established brands like Urban Electric Co. and Fritz Porter, creating a one-stop shop for professionals and homeowners, with new showrooms and a rooftop restaurant planned.

Once the heart of the Charleston Naval Shipyard, Navy Yard Charleston has been beautifully reimagined through thoughtful adaptive reuse and preservation. Its iconic brick architecture, soaring industrial spaces, and waterfront setting create a striking backdrop that celebrates the Lowcountry’s legacy of craftsmanship and innovation.

We’re honored to partner with Navy Yard Charleston to present two Design in Mind Lectures to celebrate the power of preservation, and support the Foundation’s advocacy.
